About this Course
As you age, the health expert you need to get to know best is the brilliant, the esteemed Dr. You. With Reed Tuckson as your coach, you will learn how to help take better control of your health by improving your mental, physical and spiritual well-being. You will discover how to make the most of your relationship with your doctors and how to get ready for and manage a hospital stay. And finally you will learn to develop your network of family, friends, and community services to improve your quality of life. By the end of this course, you will have the information, tools and resources to help you live a healthier, happier life.
What You Can Expect from this Course
In this first week, we focus on what is and is not normal when it comes to aging, and we examine those habits that most contribute to our health outcomes.
So much of your health is tied to what you eat, how much you eat, and the amount of exercise you get. In this second week, Dr. Tuckson explains the basics of nutrition and provides some basic tips for how to up your activity levels.
This week, Dr. Tuckson focuses on how we can make our homes safer, how we can build a strong support team around us, and how to create end-of-life plans - all really important stuff for Dr. You to work on.
In this last week, Dr. Tuckson will focus on your medical needs, with an emphasis on building a strong relationship with your primary care physician, preparing for a hospital stay, and creating strategies for managing all those prescriptions, vitamins, supplements, and other medicines you may be taking.

About Your Instructor
Dr. Reed Tuckson, author of The Doctor in the Mirror, is the former Chief of Medical Affairs for United Health Group and is now the managing director of Tuckson Health Connections, LLC, a non-profit focused on improving health and healthcare throughout America.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tuckson has been recognized in a leader in public health, academic medicine, organized medicine and private sector health organizations. He has committed himself to a vision of “comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, and integrated health care.”
He is the President of the American Telemedicine Association. He also serves on a variety of boards including the National Academy of Medicine’s Health Sciences Policy Board, the Roundtable on Value & Science-Driven Health Care, the Digital Learning Collaborative, the American Telemedicine Association, Cell Therapeutics Inc., and LifePoint Health. His on the Board of Trustees of Howard University, and he is the Senior Clinical Advisor to United Health Foundation’s America’s Health Rankings epidemiology reports.
